Abstract

Agriculture is entering a new era, characterized not only by growing challenges like climate change and population growth but also by technological advancements that enhance productivity and sustainability for farmers. Sunflower is among the most popular crops in Romania, and recent data show that the country has ranked first in the EU for several years in its production. Our study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of chemical controls against pathogens in sunflower crops, comparing drone-based spraying systems to conventional ground spraying methods. The treatments were conducted using the DJI Agras T30 agricultural drone, which is equipped with a pressure nozzle spraying system. Based on the study's findings, it is recommended to apply treatments at volumes ranging from 10 to 30 liters per hectare. This volume should be adjusted according to the prevailing climatic conditions at the time of application, the level of infection pressure, and the types of pathogens identified in the sunflower crop.
